Recco is a personal restaurant recommendation app. We collect only what we need to make the app work, we never sell your data, and you're always in control.

Who we are

Recco is operated by William Andrews as a personal project. The app helps you keep track of restaurants you've visited or want to visit, and share recommendations with trusted friends.

What data we collect

Email address — used to create your account and log you in
Display name — the name you choose when signing up
Restaurant data — places you add, ratings, notes and photos you upload
Location — only when you use the "Near me" feature, never stored
Device information — basic technical data to help the app work properly

What we don't collect

We don't collect payment information
We don't track your location in the background
We don't collect contacts or social media data
We don't use advertising trackers

To create and manage your account
To show your restaurant list and ratings
To share recommendations with friends you connect with

Who can see your data

Your restaurant list and ratings are only visible to friends you explicitly connect with inside the app. You control who you connect with — nobody can see your data without your approval.

We use Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting) and Google Places API (restaurant search) as technical providers. These are reputable services with their own privacy policies.

Data storage

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers in the EU. We use industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest.

Your rights

You have the right to:

Access the data we hold about you
Delete your account and all associated data
Export your restaurant data
Correct any inaccurate information

Cookies

Recco uses only essential cookies required for authentication (keeping you logged in). We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

Recco is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
